Mary Michelle Turner was born and reared in Northeastern Oklahoma. She has been active in ranching along with her parents. Mary Michelle served as a Child/Youth Librarian in Poteau, Oklahoma. A graduate and former Adjunct Professor of Cameron University, Lawton, Oklahoma, she holds an Oklahoma Teacher Certification, Oklahoma Public Library Certification, Oklahoma Insurance Producer and Real Estate Associate License, a Master of Science in Behavioral Science, and Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Early Childhood Education and Family Science, along with an Associate of Science with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. Mary Michelle was previously a military dependent for 22 years and a Department of Army Civilian with over 10 years of service. During those service years Mary Michelle served as a Family Child Care Provider, and director for several Department of Army Child, Youth & School Services programs. Mary Michelle has also worked with the American Red Cross.
Mary Michelle has been both Sunday school director and teacher for more than 8 years after returning to Oklahoma. She also served as church secretary. She was voted Sunday school teacher of the quarter by the district in which she resided. Mary Michelle has been a member of Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Oklahoma Writer’s Federation, Inc., Military Child Education Coalition, Green Country Ruff Riters, and Friends of Patrick Lynch Public Library.
Mary Michelle’s occupations have provided her the opportunity to live in Berlin and Neu-Ulm, Germany which allowed her to visit Paris, Austria, and Poland. She is currently authoring Christian Fiction and Children’s Literature Fiction books which include picture books. Her passion is utilizing her writing as a resource to help families and children work through some of today’s toughest challenges.
Mary Michelle has a passion for writing both fiction and non-fiction. When not working as librarian, she enjoys crafts, reading, fishing, ranching, and spending time with her family.
